Learn to accept yourself

How often we give our time, thoughts, feelings to others. To please them. To be appreciated and loved. Sometimes we do it very sincerely to help others or to take care of our loved ones. Sometimes with the unconscious belief that those good deeds will come back. And sometimes waiting for at least a simple Thanks from a boss, co-worker, mom or dad, spouse, beloved, child… Many of us have a special ability to care for others and even forgetting about ourselves.

I believe that every human being has a tremendous strength that can not only give but also to take. And accept yourself. Accept yourself as you are and not justify to anyone. Accept the gifts of life without hesitation. Remind yourself that you will be capable to take care of others only if you will have enough energy and take care of yourself without guilt.

  1. Exactly, I’ve come to realize that the fear of not meeting someone else’s expectations was my biggest “trouble”, and what led to more problems.
I didn’t have a personal opinion about myself but believed in what everyone else said. It’s hard to break the vicious cycle, but it’s essential to be aware there’s one.
Thankfully I’ve always had a strong self-defensive attitude, but I felt sorry countless of times for having chosen to care about my health and well-being above someone else’s.

  2. Unfortunately, there are always others in the first place. I’m slowly trying to change that. I came to the realization that I needed to love myself first.
