ok, Yo-yos were around before they appeared at our school. But the great rebirth of the toy was in the 1970s in the US and I was in school.

Duncan Yo-Yo had a traveling Yoband that used to go to schools. They came to our little school nestled on a hill in Southern Indiana when I was 9 years old. The Yo-Yo and I were instant friends. Mom asks you to walk the dog? Sure thing mom, just pulls out your Yo-Yo and walk the dog!!!
Why actually take the dog outside when you can use your trusty yo-yo!

I should have known this was a Doc original. I remember yoyos when I was growing up. I also sold them at one time and they were not really a big selling item.
they slid from popularity in the late 70s, i think they were really popular from around 197- to around the middle of that decade.
What a blast! I loved these yo-yo’s. Hours of fun.
i did (and still do)!!!! love them to this day!
These are awesome, I wish I had a yo-yo right now. Mine always got tangled and ruined.

i had so many of them back in the day. I still have 5 or 6 of them. I used to have one that lit up when you extended it all the way (end of the string)!
Everything with lights was super cool.
we had one with a white and a red bulb. When you spun them in the air, they looked amazing!

it was a huge toy in the US, i thought it had made it to Europe, but maybe not.
It has been a long time since I Yoed lol. Maybe one day I will try to Yo again lol.
