We’ve had a heatwave and a mini-drought in the Washington DC area since June. The rain came yesterday!

Rain and the sound of rain is so relaxing.
So you do rain where does the water go?
Eventually, all water goes to the sea.

i love the sound of water falling, water crashing into the beach. For me water is the starting point. I love being in, around, and on the water.
Thanks for listening I hope this lightens the mood for you!

I collect quotes and the last one I collected is this one that I wrote too on a recent post that Carol published: “The heart and life of a mighty and triumphant emperor is but the breakfast of a seely little worm” Montaigne.
that is a great quote! personally i am wandering Don Quitote again remembering the quotes that caught my eye years ago!
Don Quijote is a masterpiece. It is the most sold book in Spanish of all time. But it is written in Ancient Spanish so it is not so easy to read I believe. We study it a little bit but I should read it. It is one of the best novels of all time. Everybody should read it.
i read it first in college, I have reread it a few times since then. I find much in the dreams of the knight!
That´s great. I have to read it. I have a modern version of the classic and I should read it. We studied it a little bit in School. We read some extracts but as they were from the original version, the Spanish was so ancient I was confused reading it. yes, I will try to read it this Fall.
well as you can imagine i have only read the translated version. my Spanish is so weak that the original would probably take me 30 years to read!
“The sun shines on saints and sinners alike, as does God.”
God is still the number one gray area that needs to be elevated from our basement of adulthood to our childlikeness of our child.
let the rain fall where it may, there is no greater joy than walking in the rain!
Thank you for sharing, I love the sound of rain but rarely can enjoy it as much as I could years ago in the countryside in an old house with a tin roof.
i bet that was beyond amazing as the rain fell on that tin roof.
You could sleep all day plop plink plop
that is the best, we stayed in cabins up in Michigan once with a tin roof. It rained one day and I just listened!
We have been having heavy rains and storms for a couple of days now. It did a lot of damage.
We got the last vestiges of the Hurricane (Isaias) yesterday lots and lots of rain over 24 hours
Another song came to mind about the rhythm of the rain. Cool post again.
As for the quote, “Where am I”.. that is what comes to mind when I see the sign.
take those pictures in the metro stations so I remember where I parked!
Another good one. Thanks for the smile.
thanks – you know my goal – smile a day!
That Cascade song is nostalgic. The truth of one person may differ to the truth of another. Nevertheless, a person must have a conviction because the middle road is a tricky road to tread.
the middle road so hard and very risky. sometimes we have to find a way to make it work on either side.
