How to be a Virily Team Player

My husband requested that I write this! He comes to play all Kim’s games. I usually can’t and he enjoys them. He also hears when I get discouraged about the site in general or specific things. He finally woke me up in the middle of the  night and said, “Hey, why don’t you tell them “why” you feel the way you do and talk about being a team player and be very open a specific.”

I replied with what I felt “It won’t matter because people don’t actually read the posts.”

He said, “Well if even one person reads it and agrees you’ve reached one person.”

So today I am going to use this post as my example. (I didn’t ask his permission and I hope he doesn’t mind.) He provided us with 10 great photos. He got 2 virils for 2 of them. The rest of the photos the only thing he can earn is if we comment on them.  As a good team player we should comment on them. Then I would assume this author would do the same when it comes to your posts.

So today I am going to change things up with the way I would normally do Virily. I am going to my last 10 posts and if anyone commented on my posts then I am going to their pages and comment on twice as many.

Then I am going to all those participating in the contest and make sure I am up to date on their posts.

Then I go to latest and take those on 10 at a time throughout the day. Typically I don’t upvote any articles, because I think my comments cover that.  (Maybe that makes me a bad team player, let me know if you think so.)

At least 3 times a day I check for latest. Do I expect everyone to be so involved? Of course not, do I do more for people who participate and comment on mine, absolutely.

So now that I got that off my chest, I am off to my day job 12 hours a day!

  1. I just do not have time to comment on many posts. I only work night shift and if the lady does not have a restful sleep, I have to sleep during the day. And that was one of the reasons I was absent from the site. But on the side of the last post I like almost everyone.

  2. I have said I would be in the contest but for instance, the one problem is that I read and I comment but two of my posts are sitting waiting for approval. It does not work so fast around here.

  3. I agree with you. I also decided to look and comment (sometimes I do not comment on everything, depending on how much time allows) of the members to whom my views are returned. Unfortunately, members made this decision to me. I worked on one other website. Approximately 10 members are agreed and we are every day liked publication of one another. Of course, we liked other members if we wanted to.

  4. I think it’s great that your husband is giving you advice. I think what you are trying to do is be a great team member. But you don’t have to, this will take a ton of your time. I do as much as time allows especially with returning comments. You never stay caught up. But trying is a good thing.

    • He is giving me advice because he would like me to sleep at night. And really I have to do something. I get very little interaction here and it is tough on the self esteem. It would much easier to walk away, but then I feel like a failure. So what’s a girl to do!

  5. My wife and I have the same arguments all the time! But your posts are something I look forward to reading!

ps you don’t have to read two of my posts and comment on two of my posts. You comment on my stuff all the time!

    • I don’t “have” to do anything, but I want to see if I try reaching out if it will make a difference. We need to feel good about what we are doing and I am not feeling good about it as a whole.

      • There is such a huge amount of negativity on Virily right now. On Niume I retreated into my two communities (Travel and Technology) and while there are people whose online friendship I treasure, I stopped communicating with other folks. It helped. Then here the cheating that was done by so many members last year, made me withdraw.

Then I realized, it isn’t my problem. People do what people do. I can’t help or fix them. Their problems are their problems.

I find that helps. But I do also want to share that I do enjoy your posts. You are struggling with some of the things I struggled with for a long time, here.

  6. I think I’ve read more of your post than you think 🙂
For general posts, I do get lazy at times and also there are times the topic doesn’t interest me as much.

For some reason commenting under individual photos crashes my browser so I usually don’t comment there! I do agree, commenting does covers upvoting. But I have the habit of upvoting before commenting but in cases I don’t have much to comment, at least upvote the post.
