Hope ~ Black and White Friday

In the previous post, I’ve already written about the heat of the political temperature in my country which has affected many things in people’s lives.

The change in the electoral system that has given a long period of time to the campaign seems to have taken many things in our midst lately. Friendship turns into a feud, the warmth of communication can shift into insults, humor transforms into cynicism, praise becomes slander, and others that seem to have divided the nation, even families. The impression of this divide has actually been going on for more than five years because the competition between the two presidential candidates this time is the same race that happened in the previous election. Both are the same candidates even though with different vice presidential candidates.

Fortunately, there are quite a lot of forces who still think clearly, think healthy, and are able to stimulate the maintenance of peace. Whatever the outcome later, whoever is elected, we all have hope, hope to be closer to the highest ideals of the nation.

The point is, whatever happens to us or our nation, we must have strong beliefs and hopes. I know that this is a classic value that we all already know, but I also always remind that what we know is not always what you believe, what we believe is not necessarily an option for us to do. Belief will only become a reality if it has become an unconscious force which in turn shapes physical reality.

    • We don’t need to worry or be confused if not many people understand us because everyone is unique, right? I myself try to always be moderate in responding to the attitudes and perspectives of others.

    • The most challenging thing here in Virily is to read the writing, learn to understand the point of view and make “appropriate” comments in addition to replying to comments wisely, sometimes suggestively, or joke because basically we have different points of view, like me and you must have a variety of differences even though we try to understand.

I and you are sensitive individuals, the difference is the way we respond to our own sensitivity, which for me gives a kind of spaciousness to not be easily disappointed or burdened when our views meet with other’s mine.

  3. Unfortunately, politics is really dirty. I always hope that the situation in our country will change with the elections, but this has not happened yet.

  4. My friend … our elections are not stressful in our country … because the pigsty leftovers replace only a few stools … they take care of their asses … I have not been going to the polls for a long time … they wrap around

    • Unstressful is great but being apathetic… hmmm…

Since the beginning of the new millennium, politics in my country has undergone a major philosophical transformation, from “dictatorship” to more open decentralization. Unfortunately, the transformation so far is still more likely moved from centralized greed to be decentralized greed. In the past, I was a part called the “white group” or part of the community that did not vote/not use their voting rights for various reasons. But since that transformation, the people seem to feel freer and willing or consider it very necessary to choose their leaders to realize the ideals of the nation.

      • We have never had a dictatorship … we only had communism in an easier form … you probably already heard about Yugoslavia and Tito … it was sometimes our common state-Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia … these were golden times … all the older generation curses old times. Then after the death of Tito Yuga broke up in 90 years, democracy and thugs came to power … because it was not that I was saying badly about it … but it could be much better

  5. Mark Twain said “Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.” I wonder if in fact we should be able to change them even faster.

  6. Elections are on in my country too. It has affected the traffic to my travel blogs that I write for another site. Other than that, life is normal.

  7. Elections are quite a joke to me sometimes. Politics is dirty…
I realised anxiety seems to happen more than hope …
or at least hope doesn’t come true even with the absence of anxiety …

The thing is, we still hope … lol

    • Politics is an interest, and political interests are dirty in general.

Great! I see wisdom again from you, anxiety is almost always greater than expectations (and desires) and that often gives a lot of reality. We don’t want bad things or evil to come to us but fear always invites them.

So, beyond hope and anxiety, I prefer sincerity in living life.

  8. I like to hope for the best but sometimes I listen to my fears. One needs balance between both, while I want to face what I have to, I want to hope that my thoughts give productive actions to my life.
I have no desire to change a persons opinions on religion politics or anything else, but I do want to do my best
We don’t have it easy in this life and one is often faced with choices.
I wish you all happiness and peace in your lives.

    • Fear is one of our basic instinct to survive, but often it speaks too loudly to burns attitude and makes it into our various motives in all aspects of life.

You are right, life is a choice, even long before we realize it.

Thank you for your hopes and support.
