This looks likes a common daisy , doesn’t it? But it is not, this flower blooms only in summer on a bulbous stem. Can you guess what it is?
In the heart of summer nothing much thrives in this tropical weather. Vegetables wilt and dry, flowers droop even before they bloom and yet some thrive. These are the ones that are like a balm to this shriveled heart, shriveled by the summer heat.
I have to water my garden twice daily in this summer, more so because I have most of my plants on the terrace. A temporary shade structure we had made was blown away a few months back when we had a thunderstorm. In the middle of summer we expect more thunderstorms and putting up another structure would be a terrible waste of money and effort.
So we just have to lie low and not plant too many things in summer.

You’re right, it blooms at dawn, it is from dawns garden and its a dawn bloom. 😀

At first sight I would never say it is a cactus flower. It is beautiful.

Most cacti bloom, but they need the right conditions.
