When I read the color for this week of Kim’s Color Crazy Challenge I thought they are a great combination, but it’s also quite challenging to find such photos. Luckily, I remembered about a folklore festival I watched last year and I thought some of the costumes will be perfect for the challenge. What do you think? Do you like watching folklore dances from different countries?

In my region, Aragón, there is a special kind of dance, it is called jota. People dress in a special manner but I just do not like it. I have never dressed like that and I do not like the dance. I do not know why but I can´t stand this kind of folklore. I hope people from my region do not read this comment because I could be in trouble…
Haha, don’t worry, your secret is safe here. I just saw some videos on YouTube and I enjoyed watching the jota dance.
I am also more interested in folklore from other countries than my own, maybe it’s a common thing.
Lovely photos, I am not sure what you would think of our traditional dances here in New Zealand but will attempt to show some of them in another post.
I love foreign dances! These are from Mongolia or Inner Mongolia, China. Unfortunately, the host of the festival wasn’t very good.
These are very colorful costumes. I have already danced our traditional dances.
That’s wonderful! I am a bad dancer.
I was a good dancer in my younger years.
I like folklore dances and their costumes are so colourful.
Me too, it’s fun to watch them.
In our country we dance a lot of traditional dances. Even here in Spain we do it. We have such a group.
Oh, that’s wonderful!
i have never danced the traditional dances of my country. I suspect, that it would be culturally insensitive for me to dance the celebratory dances of the Fist People.
Call it artistic fusion and it should be okay.
i suspect instead I shall begin creating Parrot dance videos.
I would definitely watch that!
i figured you would! now I just have to find a dancing parrot!
I am not dressing up as a dancing parrot!
Beautiful costumes! I like folk dances. I have been a member of a folk ensemble for many years!
That’s wonderful! I am a terrible dancer but I enjoy watching others dance.
That’s a beautiful mixture of colours. I like them.
I do like watching other countries’ traditional dances and have danced on mine a few times.
That’s wonderful! Do you have a preferred dance from your country?
Many of the tribes here have lost their traditional dances but there are some who are adorned with traditional clothes. The kind you’ve seen in movies showing westerners visiting Africa. The traditional attire reflects that of whole Africa.
It’s sad when beautiful and positive traditions are getting lost. I love colorful traditional clothes like the ones you describe.
You are right. Very soon almost all will get lost as many become accustomed with modern dances.
Such bright and lovely colors. great for the challenge.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Traditional dances of any country I notice are colourful
I agree with you, it’s always a pleasure to watch them.
Wonderful photos and lovely bright colors.
Thank you so much, RasmaSandra!
Love all the different happy colors here Ellie!
Thank you, the performance was very interesting too.
