Starting a new series about Rabbits. As you know I love all animals.
In researching for my other series, I have found a lot of information to share with you.
1. The first fact is about how rabbits cannot live on carrots alone.
Cartoons suggest that rabbits can happily survive on a diet of carrots alone. But in the wild, rabbits don’t eat root vegetables—they’d much rather munch on greens, like weeds, grasses, and clovers. That doesn’t mean you can’t give your pet some carrots as a snack from time to time, but don’t overdo it: Carrots are high in sugar and contribute to tooth decay in 11 percent of pet bunnies.
2. Did you know some rabbits are as big as toddlers?
Not all rabbits are cute and tiny. Some, like the Flemish giant rabbit, grow to be downright monstrous. This rabbit breed is the world’s largest, reaching 2.5 feet in length and weighing up to 22 pounds. Fortunately these giants are the gentle kind, which makes them popular pets.

I will be posting soon showing a rabbit I got to capture on my phone when I spotted him through my side screen door. I finally opened the door slowly trying not to scare the rabbit, and I did successfully capture him. Love your rabbit post!
That is great. I have snapped a fe wi my yard. Very cool wild rabbits. Thanks!
When we moved to Utah I learned a whole slew of things that were different than the rabbits we have in Montana. It was interesting.
Amazing how there are so many traits and species and so much nature to learn about.
Since I raised almost hundred rabbits I know that carrot are not the only thing they live on. I know there are big rabbits but 2-5 feet and 22 pounds is really huge.
I found some of the facts very interesting, as I always do abut animals.
my little sister raised rabbits on the mini-farm, she raised one type of rabbit that was a solid 20 pounds. i remember having to move them around in the cages to clean!
Doc, that doesn’t sound like a pleasant memory. I would let that one go.
yeah you are probably right about that
I had a friend that raised rabbits and they can be very messy. I prefer the wild ones that I watch in my yard.
they were horribly messy. My folks and little sister went to Hawaii for two weeks and I got Voluntold to stay at their house and take care of the dogs, rabbits, cows (2) and Horse.
oh yeah and dad left me a note, please mow the front lawn (that was 5 acres back then)!
New word. Voluntold. That is a good one.
I love seeing rabbits they are adorable. I once considered changing from cats to rabbits but then I remembered that if I let the rabbit roam around the apartment I would have rabbit pellets everywhere
You make excellent choices. @RasmaSandra.
Rabbits can be very messy to have as a pet. I prefer the wild ones in my yard!
Such cute posts you shared today! I enjoyed the photos so much.
They are quite adorable aren’t they.
Thank you, I just love talking about and being around animals. They make me smile. 🙂
Rabits are very cute. Thank you for sharing this post.
They can eat a whole bunch of tulips in a matter of minutes.
Yikes Ghostwriter, never thought about them eating tulips. Mine are bloomed already so they are safe.
You are very welcome and thank you!
These are interesting facts. I didn’t know a rabbit could be that big.
I would not want to see one that big!
Me neither. This is a real little “monster”.
Yes and my cats would not be happy either.
Very beautiful bunnies …. I knew that rabbits can’t live on carrots alone ….. wild rabbits probably eat very little or nothing
They are indeed my friend. I have brown ones in my yard that eat the grass and clover.
This rabbit that I photographed for the first time tricked him into coming out with a piece of apple.
That is a great idea, thank you!
