Ever wondered the history behind French Revolution Day ?

Today, French people are celebrating their national day, that day, known as Bastille day in history. Every year It is celebrated on July 14. The celebration of the French people is a unique story of celebrating this day.

France helped America openly in the war for independence from Britain, as a result America finally got freedom in 1776, but this unnecessary support became the reason of  change in France. The elite and the church of France had a partnership and all the lands were occupied. They were not paying tax but imposing the tax on public and the law and order situation was ever worst in the history of France.

France’s treasury had become empty because of the help of the US in war freedom. The inflation was touching the sky. The poor were becoming more poor while richest becoming more richest, So decided to impose more tax on public.

Parliament meeting was convened for the implementation of tax on May 5, 1789. There were 3 parts of the parliament, one part of the ruler, the second part of the church and the third part of the people which was 97 %. The authority of public representatives were limited, they lived afraid of elite but today their voices became high and they protested against tax implementation but the king refused to accept their reservation on tax. Then In June 1789, the public representatives hold a meeting out of the parliament named this meeting National Assembly.

The king ordered the police and the army to remove them, but public representative refused to obey. Finally, a half-month later, with the help of foreign soldiers, they were dispersed and arrested.

The king became satisfied, but on the next day, people attack “Bastille ” released prisoners and released all the people with all the weapons in jail . as a result the king government become weak and The insurgency also raised the head at village level and at the end in 1791 king tried to escape from the country but people caught him and arrested.

People’s Assembly took public courts to make democratic laws and beheaded every one who’s hand were soft and clear collar because it was considered a sign of the elite. Beheaded the King and Queen and about 40,000 people were killed from 1793 to 1794 and this massacre resulted the modern France.

French thin tanks described this incident breaking jail  in its history as revolution or freedom and every year it began to be celebrated. On this occasion, the excellent parade are organized on the Shanzay Lisa.

  1. Very interesting history, the poor in France were downtrodden for a long time before Americas independence.
    Yet paying America may have been the last straw for the poor in France
