Funny thing happened today. I saw this beautiful black cat on the deck. Checking out my bird feeder.
Looks exactly like the Dude. Same color, same eyes, same meow. Because I had to go say hello to him.
Very friendly, exactly like the Dude.

my guess since you never let them out, that in fact, it is not the dude. Instead this is one of the two hissing cats from your post about that a few days ago!!!!
Ding ding ding, we have a winner. You are the only one who #1 realized the Dude never goes outside, and #2 this was the one on the front porch yowling the other night!

Thanks, many will not adopt black cats due to silly superstitions.
It is like seeing twins and there are some differences but you cannot notice them right away

Dude has a competitor, but I think Dude himself has shinier fur.
You are right, he is shinier, he apparently gets brushed more often.
