Sharing more birds with my Backyard Birds series. These two blackbirds were perched on the top of my cypress tree. They had a nest in the tree below them. I have to assume this is a male and female.
Could not get very close, had to use the zoom to get this photo. They were protecting the nest of babies. This past spring brought many nests and babies to my yard. I hope for even more next year.
I get lost in nature without leaving my yard. I feel blessed to have so much nature all around me.

Great shot! You know after reading the post I haven’t seen any here. We have a bird that looks similar but it is a dark brown, and has yellow eyes. Sounds like a tropical bird.
I know the Brewer’s blackbirds have bright yellow eyes.

Thank you. I was out in the yard looking for bluebirds on this day, with my Nikon. I was able to zoom in to get this one.

But… these are blackbirds on my Cypress trees, not Cypress Blackbirds. I see now that title could be misleading.
