This is a continuation of Kim’s challenge. I hope the color will meet the challenge.
I took a picture on a walk by the lake which is also near my home. Of course, the picture is from my archive. The lake is protected as a natural monument. This is a popular area for walking and swimming in the summer. Many birds have found their home here (singer birds, swamp reeds, small eardrum, fisherman), marsh plant species, frogs, dragonflies, insects and others. Of course, there are also swans on the lake. But I have no fond memories of one of these swans. It was the first time that a swan had “attacked” me. I must admit that I was very scared because I did not expect anything like that. But despite this event, I enjoyed the beauty of the lake.

The picture looks good and yes I was attacked by a swan before. I was trying to take pictures of them and one of them nearly killed me hehe. The person I was with helped me to understand that it was the male who was protecting the female who was sitting on eggs. I didn’t know until that time because it look like the swans were just relaxing.
Thank you. He also attacked me when I tried to photograph him. I have been watching the swans for a long time and they have been kind to this attack.
We have to be extra cautious then if we want pictures. From that day I am scared to go near them.

That’s a beautiful photo! I have noticed that swans tend to be very protective and hissing at anyone who gets too close.

They (swans) are pretty territorial i am glad you were not hurt!
they are beautiful I agree. Luckily for me when I walk I have a guard dog with me!

I’ve been hissed at by geese before. These birds do not play.

I enjoy seeing wildlife by the lake but never had any such experience
I also enjoy the water and watching the swans and ducks
When I see a group of them, I make sure to avoid them. They can be mean.
I didn’t know they could be mean. I’m avoiding them now.
