Conflict

Everyone deals with conflict. Not everyone approaches it in the same way. It is clear that discomfort is associated with conflict. Many people simply do everything they can to avoid it  conflict.

Peacekeepers are bound and determined to do whatever it takes to avoid the conflict. They will be silent rather than disrupt. They will back down and let it be.

Peacekeepers will seek people who agree with them. They don’t often engage if a person has a different point of view.  The would rather remain alone and silent than ruffle feathers and cause commotion.

Peacemakers use the opportunity of conflict to promote a conversation and hopefully to enlighten both sides. They attempt to have civil dialogue. A peacemaker with change their mind when evidence is provided. They are willing to stand alone to make a point.

Peace makers wan people to respectfully disagree when needed, and voice their opinions.

  1. I’ve no idea … but well, I know people who are peacekeeper pissed people off because they’d do anything to avoid conflict, including lying or avoiding important issues…

  2. I truly find value in supporting the rules of personal engagement. Based on that I am more often in the Peacekeeper Role.

I do at times, but not often take the Peacemaker road.
