Butterfly Pea or Blue Flowers ~ Alphabet Crazy

This is Clitoria ternatea, and commonly known as Asian pigeonwings too. We actually call them blue flowers in our country. Many people use the flowers as natural food coloring.

I recently read the health benefits of drinking Butterfly pea flower tea. The plant is very easy to grow, and we can easily find the seeds around. Hence my kids are growing a few Butterfly pea plants in the garden, and we are having the Butterfly pea flower tea often. Sometimes, I just put a few flowers in the rice pot, and we’ll get blueish rice. I also made some blue desserts with the blue coloring from the flowers.
