held there in the light
but the brick wall
and talking the voices bounce
each one shaping into
cones and tiny bells
that ringing
with the passing wind
remind us to
pause.
stop.
consider why
as we stand
in an impromptu meeting
by the edge forever
of the sky…
until the shatter sound is heard
what lies next
what is ahead
what shall we do?

This poem is right on time as we anticipate what is ahead for the next half of this year.
i suspect the news influenced me as i wrote it
I really like talking. So I stop several times and chat a little.
My wife and I walk every day now, we talk and share, but when I am on my longer walks, I have to have quiet!
Waiting to hear comments are a huge part of conversing, as you know. Peace and quiet mostly here in my world now.
peace and quiet isn’t often in my world, so I enjoy when I get it!
I am mostly quiet now. This morning my brother called me us and said can I talk to you. (I really wanted to say no, because he feels like he must tell me all the things I am doing wrong. He has become my father.)
I didn’t say no and I listened and answered for an hour and then I said I had to leave. I don’t have the answers he needs and I cannot fix anything.
i wish I had an answer, I hear that pain. I would only say, I am here and I will listen!
