The day we went to Piha Beach was forecast to rain, but we packed a lunch and a thermos and went. It takes half an hour to get there.
Here are a series of photos I took and hopefully you can see them and I would like to hear what you think of them.
It was either sunny or cloudy and there was no rain that day.
Just before you get to the beach you drive down a very windy road with sheer drops in some places. I stopped to take a photo of the view here.
A long time ago, it was a gravel road and there was a huge rock over hanging the road. Now it is a modern road tar sealed and that over hanging rock is removed. They put some dynamite on it and it’s now gone.
A closer look at the detail of Lion Rock at Piha. Lion Rock is a bit of an icon and gets put on every postcard, etc…
I could see some people would have a bach here and have that on their wall, which shows the level of imagination they have.
It is off course a standard land mark.
I am looking towards the north and have the north head of Piha in the distance. It makes a more abstracted photograph. How many of the conventional people will have that on their wall?
