This magnificent One of a Kind Mountain in the world is so majestic words can hard-lii describe it! It has to be experienced in person! This place is always full of locals & foreigners as scrambling to get to the top whether it is by use of the cable-car or to hike up one of the many different path-ways to get to the top even a separate path to get to the adjacent mountain name-lii Devil’s Peck which is a mountain on it’s own! You need to get here ear-lii as parking is very limited and sometimes you have to park way up the road it’s like a climb of it’s own! There are about five popular Paths to follow;- Skeleton Gorge, The Smuts Track, Upper Cable-way to Maclear’s Beacon, Platteklip Gorge(The Highway to the Top) .Soon we will only be using the cable-way as old age is creeping up on us! The things to see varies there is bird species, lizards, plen-tii of fynbos and we also saw a wild mountain goat on our assent! The higher you go the more awesome the surrounds get and also the panoramic views! To the west is the beautiful Atlantic ocean with the famous Robben Island in clear view from the top! Pack lots of healthy foods and plenty of water! There is a restaurant on top of the mountain but not cheap and always full! Take a windbreaker as it always get cold on top! Even the Cape Town Stadium & the V & A Waterfront is clear-lii visible with the huge docks with all the ship in! A must visit place when in Cape Town!..

Interesting post, Jack. With some interesting spell-iiings too 😉 My mum went up there once but the summit was enveloped in fog 😮 I’d love to go, especially to admire all that fynbos!
