Just a 40 minute drive north of Steamboat Springs, you’ll find Steamboat Lake State Park. It’s a beautiful area where you can camp, hike, fish, boat, or have a picnic lunch. When we visited in the Spring a few years ago, we encountered many wild flowers and quite a few humming birds. While it was too cold to swim when we visited, the lake looked wonderful. Check out the video to experience some of the lovely mountain views. While the hummingbirds were the highlight for the kids, we also saw some deer as we hiked around the park’s welcome center.
