Here is a mixture of photos of Natural New Zealand where I live, which is in Auckland. I am sorry I don’t have any photos of the South Island but it’s cheaper for us to go to Australia than it is to go on the ferry and drive through the South Island. One day, I will be able to do that.
These are affordable places to visit and as that is not a great expense to show off these beautiful places and show a little of bird life and landmarks, here we are!
Gannet Dive Whales & Dolphins Tour
A Whales & Dolphin tour is worth every cent in Auckland, there are 2 tour boats Dreamweaver tours or Fullers 360degrees. Both are excellent tours and I loved the experience either way.
There is a Gannet colony in the Waitamata harbour and here are the Gannets diving for fish. Lucky Shot for me!
Manukau Harbour from Huia area, Waitakere, West Auckland.
This is a New Zealand Tui at Eden Gardens, Mt Eden, Central Auckland. It sings and then there is heaps of these birds. They play musical chairs for it is spring time here at the time this photo was taken.
This bird will band up with other tuis to defend themselves. That is why they survive.

Whangarei – Looking at Ruakaka and Whangarei heads
On returning home from Whangarei on a day trip, I stopped to take photos from an rest spot. It has awesome views and this is one of them.
You see Ruakaka with those towers it's an old oil refinery. I had some relations living here and we used to come there as children for the odd holiday. It's a beautiful spot but I have not been back there for years.
White Eye
Westhaven Auckland
This marina is right next to Auckland's Harbour Bridge and it's really huge. Some million or billionaires own boats here and they aren't all from this country.
However, not all of these people are in that category - for some it's their main home and all they need to pay mooring fees.
I've often seen an affordable boat on Trade Me, a NZ website and considered living on one of these but if a storm comes from the tropics, you can't sleep easy at night.
Blue Penguin Flight
Looking for photos for this site, I did not realise that I photographed a Blue Penguin flying during a whales & dolphins tour one day. This is the first photo I've taken of such an event. Luck in getting such photos is helped by going on such a tour.
Got to be in to win, can't win lotto without a ticket.
