Im not sure what this Turtle dove is thinking as I take his photo. Probably hoping that I don't get too close.

He looks at me with great suspicion but I tell him he has nothing to worry about except the cats who wander around hoping to catch anything that moves.

I could not help but notice these as the car was passing near this patch of flowers, it was after a whales & dolphins tour. It was spring time and the top colours are Iceland poppies

This is our main route from Auckland central to the north shore but there is another bridge at Greenhithe further north in the Waitamata harbour. It is a long way away from here. You go through the north western motorway to get to Greenhithe bridge.

Sometimes people fish near here with surf cast fishing rods. I tried but always seemed to get snagged in the rocks.

The dolphins arrive as we do our Whales & Dolphins tour, they love swimming near the boat at the front. 

These are common dolphins. Dolphins are predators, a dolphin with young has to catch a fish every 5 minutes to feed them They are dependant on the fish population. 

If you swim near a dolphin with young, the young dolphin will want to play with you and if you do, the mother won't feed it because she is stressed and the young dolphin will die.
