On summer days one of the best places to visit in Gloucester is its’ harbor, a great place to dine on fresh seafood and fine local traditional Portuguese and Italian food. You can feast your eyes on scenic views of one of the oldest fishing ports in the United States, tour the Cape Pond Ice Company, book a whale watch excursion to the Stellwagon Bank Marine Wildlife Sanctuary, or tour Gloucester’s coast on the harbor shuttle. The Shuttle runs from 10 am to 5 pm with stops at The Rocky Neck Art Colony in East Gloucester they Coast Guard Station near Gloucester Curise Port and the home of famed marine painter Fitz Hugh Lane and Saint Peter Square.
