Actually I was reading a topic on a forum site that’s already been asked several times but you always get interesting answers. The topic was, “If the internet disappeared forever what will you choose to do?”
If someone really wants to live without internet and programmers then this is for you- (Not a ref link)
I think the oldest profession was farming but the meaning changed of this after the WW-1, so how about farming or if you have no land the farm workers are in big demand by rich farmers.
Does anyone know what is the oldest profession of the universe when nothing modern was available? I hope someone doesn’t say that and make everyone embarrassed here.

Gardening/farming. The Bible says it is.
I think that the oldest profession, farming or gardening is a very sensible occupation…Yes, I would tend to agree with you…
Man was placed in the Garden of Eden. If he was in a garden first, then gardening would be the first skill that had to be practiced.
many folks say prostitution, although Adam is said to be the first grave digger. oldest full time profession is most likely hunter, closely followed by shaman…
Yes but it was said after WW1 only!
most of history happened before WWI, and the oldest profession is the same before or after the war to end all wars…
I also believe that gardening and farming are the oldest profession since the farms have been with humans ever since.
I have reasons to believe that hunting existed before human learned to cultivate.
Midwifery. Let’s not forget there were women whose job was to aid a pregnant woman to deliver smoothly. It’s a profession that’s still practised in some parts of the world.
I must agree, ladies helped other ladies for giving birth right from the very beginning.
I would say farming. Many depended on it for survival.
Agree but it came later. People were dependent on hunting and natural produce.
Hunting and gathering? Humans are hunter gatherers … toolmaking ? toolmaking really got going with metals (3500 BCE) and weapon making …. farming is a very good answer.
hunting and gathering are unarguably older than farming by tens of thousands of years
I agree, people were dependent on hunting for their food before they started farming.
