The way back...

I finally finish the photos from the hiking trip in Oceanside California out back… We started off on one of several trails that we had spotted one day while driving. It’s not far from my house and has a natural water shed that never runs dry.

#1 This giant tree

was still living and crossed the creek landing on the other side and breaking.

#2 Boston Fern?

or some sort of fern was thriving. This was under a Live Oak Tree Canopy.

Nice and green, that is what I love about fern. Not sure what kind this is.

  I found out. This one is a California Woodland Coastal Fern. It likes the cooler temps by the coast, and won’t grow inland.

  I found the name! It is a wood fern native to so cal, and grows under oak trees. Drought tolerant and hardy. Yes it is an evergreen.

    They seem to all grow close to trees on the north side.. They must not like the sunshine so much.

#7 A stand of Eucalyptus Trees

with some Pompas Grass plumes glowing almost in the center of the frame.

  Elenka these are huge trees, I am just kind of still far away. I think these were about 200 feet tall, or around 60 meters.

We are getting closer to the Pompas Grass, and the car is parked just beyond the trees to the left out of frame.
