Super Bloom Continues in California!

Waking up, the sky was had such pretty wispy clouds seen in the shot below. This is taken from my back yard.

I had the day off, and it was just the right weather to take the pack for a walk. The Eucalyptus Trees are shedding their bark, leaving such pretty colors. I am shooting with a small $20 camera. The colors were so diluted after looking at these trees through my sunglasses, that I decided to snap a picture using my glasses as a filter. This is what I saw.

The yellow mustard flowers are still blooming. Which is unheard of this time of year. Usually we are too dry for any wild flowers to live in the summer months. The prickly pear cacti has already bloomed leaving its apples. I decided since I loved the colors of this through my sun glasses that I would try one more. The one below.

Here is the same picture without my sunglasses. You can see the color difference.

Awesome color out here!

I had to click some more..

My mini landscapes.. I say that because they are not wide angle landscape shots.

Here is the trail. This is what we call a coyote trail.

We made our way to the small creek..The scenery sure does change, from dry arid to green creek side. The dogs got to get a drink and cool off, their favorite thing. Meika says the water temp is just right! You can see how clear the water is..

Here is another view, without Meika in the water shown below. Can you still see her? Look closely.

Meika getting out of the water…sometimes she looks so wolfy!! Yes, the photo is blurred. Sometimes you just have to save them anyway. Or I do..

Maggie Mae found a ball.

We find balls on the trails a lot of times. Meika hunts rabbits, Maggie hunts balls. Maggie is successful while Meika never is… Darn WABBITS.

My ball now! The coyotes steal them..Maggie finds them. SCORE! She looks pleased with her catch.

Break time is over.. Time to move on. This is a huge Willow Tree, and it is still alive. Can you see Maggie’s head? Sometimes my shots have photo bombs.

We see a fern, rare find here.

Down to giant Palms..

And on the way back.. The dogs crisscross the trail.. Here is Penny and Meika.

Cesar Milan, the dog trainer says to never let your dogs get out in front of you..  unless they are off lead of course. This is a typical pack walk.

They have been going out with me on hikes off lead since they were pups. They always stay within ear or eye distance. One call and they are at my side. If they do meet a snake, other dogs or people they come back without being called. It is important to establish who is pack leader when taking dogs off lead for a walk.

I would play a version of hide and seek when they would get caught up in something and not keep an eye on me. They got awesome treats for finding me. Slowly I weaned them off of the treats..

In the shot below it shows a big beautiful Eucalyptus Tree, Prickly Pear and Maggie Mae! She got muddy..

They usually need baths when I get home. This will be one of those times..

I will finish off with, you never know what you’ll find..

Off the beaten trail..

In Oceanside California..

Have a great day!
