Although it is autumn here in the Northern Hemisphere, the flowers are still around, and just as beautiful as they were throughout the summer. There are still some pretty sunflowers in bloom and small white flowers.
Here is a great poem by William Blake titled Ah! Sunflower
Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller’s journey is done;
Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire;
Where my sunflower wishes to go.
Sometimes I feel just like the sunflower: the way the sunflower pines for sun and warmth is the way that I long for summer, for heat for sunshine. At least for a little longer.
