Rose of Sharon bushes have started blooming. This one was in the shadows of the sun. It caught my eye. There are bees gathering around as they have found the pollen! I have to be careful taking photos as they will sneak up while I have my eyes on the camera lens. Nature is full of surprises. Lots of rain now which will help the flowers grow. What is growing in your garden?
The photographs of the flowers you share are exquisite. Being from Florida I sometimes wonder what were the flowers Ponce de Leon saw upon his arrival. The variety and colors had to be splendid for him to name the place Florida (“full of flowers”).

I have a variety of flowers growing from the last tenant. Crocues are my favorite a wonderful being to mild temperatures
I have never grown them before but they are gorgeous.

I am familiar with this plant in South Africa but it’s known as a Hibiscus? Do you think it is the same thing? Great photo.
I was thinking the same thing, Gina, so I looked it up. It turns out both hibiscus and rose of Sharon are in the genus Hibiscus: they’re cousins!
