My Mom's Home-Made Caramel Popcorn

I wanted to learn how to make my mom’s home-made caramel popcorn. I decided to help her today, and this is how the recipe is made. I post a picture of the recipe, but it would not rotate, so here is the recipe.

You will need popcorn, real butter, brown sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, white syrup and salt.

Put six or seven quarts popped corn, two sticks real butter, one-half cup of light corn syrup, two cups packed brown sugar, one-half tsp. of baking soda, dash of salt, pinch of cream tartar.

Mix sugar, syrup, and butter in a heavy pan, bring to a boil, and cook for five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, Then, mix these three ingredients together- soda, salt, cream of tartar, and mix thoroughly. Immediately pour over popcorn. Mix lightly, but thoroughly.

Put on cookie sheet sprayed with Pam cooking spray. Bake one hour at 200 degrees, put on waxed paper, then separate corn after cooling, and when it cools, break apart, and put in plastic containers. My mom took the popcorn from the oven, and turned the pans they were on upside down, then then popcorn came off well.

It is a good thing at this point to have an assistant. Mom gave me the pot of melted ingredients, then as I poured it in the container of popcorn my mom stirred it up. After I had poured it all in, then I held my hand up around the edges of the popcorn, so my mom could get the popcorn cover thoroughly.

Mom and I made another great memory together to treasure.

Wish you all could taste some.
