Newer studies have reported a strong link between selenium levels and depression. However, there is an overdose risk when taking supplements, so it’s better to focus on dietary sources like Brazil nuts. They are not only the best dietary source of selenium, but they also have good amounts of magnesium and zinc. While magnesium can help relieve muscle spasms and moodiness, zinc can enhance the effectiveness of antidepressant therapy.
You can eat them plain, but no more than one or two a day, since they are very rich in selenium.
Sesame seeds are another powerful plant-based mood-boosting and stress-relieving food. Read more here.

Everything is delicious when it’s rasted, but I think that nuts lose some of their nutrients.
So interesting

Very interesting! I never knew this. Thanks for this information. I will try it.
I’m glad it was helpful!
Where can one get the Brazilian nuts in Kenya?
Unfortunately, I don’t know. Whole grains, sunflower seeds, mushrooms and some animal products are good sources of selenium too though.
I love nuts but the price has just gone through the roof lately. We live in the Pecan capital of the world so we do manage to get those for free because the trees are everywhere.
Pecans are great too!
