“Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” is a song of the trio The Jimi Hendrix Experience, published in 1968. It is the last one of the album Electric Ladyland. This song is popular for the sound of the guitar loaded with wah-wah effects, with dumb chords combined with riffs and explosive solos.
Rolling Stone ranked it at # 101 on its “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list. It is one of the most characteristic and well-known themes of the musical career of Jimi Hendrix, for the virtuosity with which it expresses itself and for a heavy sound – the most “heavy” played until then.
It was cataloged as “Voodoo Chile”, and that is the title that appears in the single and is the title to which it refers officially. This is evidently confused with the 15-minute song “Voodoo Chili” on the album Electric Ladyland. The B-side of the single appears between two of his previous hits: “Hey Joe” and “All Along The Watchtower”.
Didn’t even consider playing a song based on scales with a gayageum…
Well, it’s a great idea.
