I have Dwarf Gourami Fish in my larger tank. I love watching them, they can be perfectly still for long periods of time and do not have to swim to breath through their gills. They actually have to breath air from the surface or they will drown.
Image being a fish and worrying about drowning.
Don’t forget to post anything about the color orange this week for the Color Crazy Challenge!
What a beautiful fish!
Thanks Michelle, they are becoming my favorite of all the fish I have so far. And they live as long as a great dane!
The fish is in beautiful color. I have already participated in the challenge and am looking for a suitable picture for a new post.
Thank you Vidocka. I really love them. Thank you for sharing your orange with us! Welcome back to another color challenge!!
They look prehistoric if you watch them move. Such an odd fish, but so pretty. Thanks Tas!
Ready or not here I come .. LOL I love my orange roses , gerberas and hibiscus.
Yes! Can’t wait for all those pretty flowers to show up! You just mentioned my favorite flowers. I love all three.
I have already done this challenge.
I used to have aquariums before and yes those tiny fish did add to the show
Good to hear Grace. You are on the ball! Did you have the powder blue or orange striped like this one? I have both now.
It was a long time ago and I do not remember. I had mollies, scavengers, gold fish, guppis, angel, fighters , et al.
I have mollies in with these gouramis. I have found that mollies are not peaceful. They are always picking on each other and chasing each other. I also have a small tank that I keep my fancy guppies in and some neon tetras. I would love to have an angel! My big tank is only 40 gallons though, and I hear they need more.
Good you do not have fighters. They., true to their name, are indeed fighters. Scavengers keep the tank clean.
I love the photo. I have no idea if I have anything that is orange and I have tons of photos.
Thank you Sandra. I have a hard time finding red and orange in my photos. Now the blues and greens are in abundance. lol
Watching these fish swim with grace is very relaxing
Very much so. I find myself watching it more than the tv at times.
This is a beautiful fish, I am seeing it first here.
I had not heard of them either. When I got my tank set up I went to a big aquarium supply store, and the guy there said these are the ones I should get. I am so happy with his choice, I went back and got a few more. I know have 4.
That’s good, 4 in a tank will looks great.
I posted tulips. These fish are beautiful!
Tip toe through… Okay I won’t do that again.. 😉 I will go look for your orange tulips though! Thank you, they are my favorites. I have three powder blue and this orange striped guy..
Kim, those are very pretty fish! How long do they live?
They are my favorites of the fish I have by far. I love them. They live 4-6 years normally. They have been known to live 8-10 with the proper care.
That is a good lifespan! I wish you good luck with them!
