No fancy build sweat lodge needed, No fancy smoothies. No special foods! No money up front. Just you and your kitchen.
Many of us would like to start the new year off with a wonderful outlook to get out bodies and minds back under control after indulging the last couple of months of the year past. Several feasts in a row can really make us feel bloated and depressed. There are trace amounts of toxins in everything and after long periods of time they can and will build up in our bodies.
A detox is what is needed.
From experience I will give you 7 of the best ways to detox and you can do it all in the privacy of your home.
1 – Sweat – That is right each and every time we sweat our bodies push waste out of the pores of our bodies. Do a workout several times a week and get that sweat on!
What are we sweating out? Trace amounts of lead, mercury and arsenic!
2 – Eat your greens! One way the body naturally detoxes itself is by having the right amount of vitamins, those found in leafy green vegetables are the best.
3 – Get your juice. Orange, lime or lemon. All contain immune boosters that helps your body make glutathione that gets rid of toxins and helps the digestive enzymes.
Try a hot water with lemon each morning.
4 – Oxygen. Plain old everyday oxygen! Breathing can help get rid of toxins too! Do the deep inhale through your nose and exhale out of the mouth. This helps the lymphatic system kick in, wards off toxins and pathogens in the body.
5 – Eat more garlic! That`s right, it helps the body as much as warding of vampires. Garlic seems to be one of those super foods that you cant get enough of. Garlic supports liver enzymes and contains agents to fight off Bacteria, parasites and viruses.
Use it raw! Mash a couple cloves and mix with real butter, spread on bread, or how about making up some homemade salad dressing?
6 – Green Tea, green tea and more green tea. Why? Green tea is rich in catechins, compounds that eliminate free radicals.
According to a 2007 study from the university of Arizona cancer center, people who ingested high levels of green tea catechins experienced as much as 80 percent increase in the enzymes that defend against cancer and other toxins!
Drink more green tea!
7 – Drink Water! Well we knew that one was coming but why drink so much water? For the kidneys – that is why. The kidneys do A LOT of work pushing toxins out of our bodies. When the kidneys do not work we will get sick and fast, that is why some people have to have dialysis to remove the toxins from the body because the kidneys failed .
It has always been recommended that we all drink 3 liters a day, that is 8 to 10 glasses.
See that is not hard to do at home and no fancy new gadgets required.
Drink lemon water, drink green tea and water.
Eat garlic and leafy green vegetables.
Work out to a good sweat a few times a week and relax with deep breathing.
And another benefit to keeping the body detoxed is that you should drop a few pounds without much effort!
wonderful health advisory for everybody now.Like dit
We do need a reminder sometimes.
some great tips there, water & lemons are the best thing I like to do
as it does a lot for to keep colds away as well as knock them out
so I need to do my green veggies more I see thanks for the tips.
Thanks Andria! Useful advice and lots of good tips.
This post should be featured in my opinion. I learned a lot, and thank you
Thank you for the wonderful compliment!
Nice awesome post
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading. I hope that I gave enough information.
Very informative and detailed!
Thank you. And its very easy to do, nothing special needed.
Wow, Love this. While I have to continue to exercise and increase my water for my arteries, I learned that too little was not good and well as too much. So I stay between 4-5 glasses a day.
You are right, water helps with the veins as well. Everything in moderation.
Useful knowledge for everyone..
Thank you. I think so too and its so easy!
You are very much welcome, Andria
Awesome tips Andria! 🙂
Thank you Ellie I have to say I love how you cook
Andria this is great advice and very easy to follow.
Thank you, yes it is.
I have done the water and green tea a few times. Most of the time now all I drink is water with lemon in it.
Good morning 🙂
Good morning!
Water is critical! the rest of your advice is spot on, but water is the most critical. Many people don’t realize how littler water they drink in a day!
And that is why they feel so tired!
Great post-Andria…I do most of that just not the tea…I prefer coconut juice although the tea is good for you it’s not to my taste.
I like coconut juice too, its sort of expensive here. It took a while for me to like tea, I prefer coffee.
That’s a shame cheap as chips here as they say..but you probably get some things cheaper than I do 🙂 Nice post though 🙂
I’ve been doing most of these things for a long time. I found a green tea I really love.
Which one? I like most all of them I have tried.
Great advice and I need to do more of ALL of them. I’ve always drank black teas. I wonder if the kids would notice if I switched us to green.
Yes they would the taste is different but if its orange or peach they may like it 🙂
Thank you, I drink 10 glasses of water everyday
I drink water but I reckon I should count the amount, I never have.
Its good to keep hydrated.
Good advice, I use them almost all.
Thank you. You must be in good health 🙂
