A moment please
the wind swirling around trees and
bushes
refusing to yield
refusing to stop.
A moment, please.
Each leaf
ripped form the nurturing
embrace of the parent unit
the beginning
ending
as it falls
blown by the wind
ever onward.
A moment…please?
Does the change release us?
each leaf
on a journey that lasts days
minutes
seconds
falling
always falling
A moment.
infinite and finite.
The last of the leafs
crashing tot he ground
with the roar of alion
and the whimper of a snail
to be heard no more.
A.
When life sends you a hurricane
Instead of a gentle breeze
All you want to ask
Is…a moment please?
~The Pixie Who Got Lost In The Wind~
??? one of your best Doc!
I think I have to steal that line, it is perfect. A moment please, it stops the wind. I love that! Thanks Pixie!
Hahaha! With all my blessings, yes ?. But actually, your poem was saying the same thing ?. I love that line — a moment, please. Perhaps you should pen another poem with that title ?
I have several with the title A Moment Please. Just haven’t gotten that far back in my poetry archive. My all time favorite poetry titles, that I have used many times are:
“The last known painting of Skyler Blue”
and
“Seven days journey in an open boat, in search of the sun.”
Those are deep ones but I love the one moment line — may I borrow that then?
Title of the Poem: One Moment, Please?
(A line stolen from Doc Andersen) ???
And that is serious request btw including the attribution ?
You are most welcome to borrow the line.
Love the poem and photograph too!
Thanks Kim! Have a wonderful rest of your Earth Day 2018!
They are from a time now long gone but not forgotten.
thanks! I am glad you liked both! Have a great weekend!
No problem – the goal was to wish you a happy weekend, the timing of your having one was up to you! L-)
Beautiful, artistic poem coming from such, most of the time, very down to earth person. I guess there is a poet in everyone of us. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks. I started out writing as a poet many years ago.
A good combination of photo and poetry
Thank you so much! I spent a lot of time when I was younger writing poetry, no so much now.
Wonderful poem, Scott!
Thanks, Ellie! It is, the poem, from a dark time in my life a long time ago.
This is great and exactly how I feel in my backyard lately.
Thanks, Carol. We’ve had a huge amount of wind lately as well!
Same here, March wind in April.
But April wind brings the seeds for next year’s April wild flowers!
And I can hardly wait for the flowers to start blooming.
For some
change is the simalakama fruit
eaten, the father dies
not eaten, mother dead
there are some who choose
just put it in the mouth
enjoyed its taste
but not swallow it.
Yes, there are always interesting choices we can, have and should make in life. Your example is a really good choice to be made!
