in a previous installment, I posted some surface tests. while I feel that I was quite clear that they were just surfaces applied to a primitive for ease of rendering, there still seems to be some confusion about the process so I will attempt to clear that up

now I've applied it to a cube, and then applied a tactile pavement surface to a plane so there is a floor...
