I have made it to day 5 of the 365 Photos Challenge. Today’s photo is about a very special little girl, Liliana Sousa Freitas. This little girl have the most spontaneous personality you cannot help but to fall in love with her. Apart from being a little ray of sunshine, this young lady has a story that I believe will go on and be an inspiration to others for years to come.
Lily was born with the rare Pierre Robin sequence, a set of abnormalities affecting the head and face, consisting of a small lower jaw, a tongue that is placed further back than normal and obstruction of the airways. She was still a little baby when she had to go for her first operation, as far as I can understand the doctors feared for the worst. But our little fighter never gave up and is now a healthy young girl, turning four years old in 2018.
I had to add this bonus photo while playing with her Nono (grandfather), just look at that pure joy on Lily’s face. This young lady has touched my heart in such an enormous way, words cannot begin to describe it.
