Water striders, too, cast shadows in this world (haiga)

Haiga (俳画) is originally a style of Japanese painting that incorporates the aesthetics of haikai. Haiga were typically painted by haiku poets (haijin), and nowadays are often created using photos, and typically contain a single haiku.

I took this photo in Mount Usher Gardens, in Wicklow, Ireland, yesterday. The water striders are on the River Vartry, where they were very numerous, and I spent a long time observing them.
