Love ItLove It

An Extremely Odd Case Of Mrs. Cat (part I)

Something was wrong. Mrs. Cat Olsen knew that as soon as she woke up, early this morning. She could feel that in her bones. Although she tried to ignore that awful feeling doing her morning routine: feeding Blacky, the dog and cats…… Cats?! She could swear that there were ten cats, last night before she went to bed, but now, there were thirteen pairs of sparkling eyes looking at her and waiting for food. She counted them again, there was no mistake – thirteen cats were in the kitchen.

“Strange thing….”- she thought for herself. While she prepared food for animals, she noticed that one of the newcomers was pregnant.

“God bless you, dear. You knew where to come. I’ll make your kittens come safe and sound. Let me feed you better and healthier, little mamma.”

For the moment, Mrs. Cat forgot on her unpleasant feelings. She took some fish from freezer and put it in boiled water. Cats became a little bit restless. Started mewing as it would fasten the process of cooking.

“There, there, my beauties. I know you’re not that hungry. Maybe the pregnant one would like some granules while waiting.”

The pregnant cat was anxious. Mrs. Olsen could tell that it was first pregnancy of the young mamma to be. She examined cat’s belly and said to herself: “Oh, I should be prepared, kittens will come soon.” – then she turned to a feline: “ Let’s prepare a nice cozy place for the big bang. But first of all, you need a name.”

While Mrs. Cat thought about suitable name, the pregnant cat gave her a long look, which said:”I trust you with my life.”

“I know! I am going to call you Juliana. That’s my sister’s name and you have the same intelligent and warm eyes. Welcome home, Juliana, I am going to give you the best care possible.”

Fish was cooked and good woman added some fresh carrots and boiled rice to mix it finally for her pets. In the meantime, she watched the three new cats. Besides Julianna, there were two boys who sniffed other cats. Luckily to newcomers, Mrs. Cat’s animals were used to live in pack so they accepted the newcomers with no problem. Now, they all ate together while Mrs. Olsen went out to feed Blacky. He was no delighted to share his food with any other animal, except Alma the oldest cat who was Blacky’s favorite. The dog saw food was coming and waged his tail in happy expectation. His human mom took his bowl to fill it with warm, domestic food and suddenly she felt dizzy.

“What was that? Energy is changing and I have to check it immediately.”She aimed to the house, when a cab drew in and parked in front of her gate. Mrs. Cat expected no one, so she was curious who it might be. Then she heard a familiar voice: “Hi, mom! I didn’t call because I wanted to surprise you.”

Her daughter, Dorothy, went out of the cab with the biggest smile on her face. She was an illustrator, mostly for children’s books and a rarely joyful person, always smiling, laughing and talking loudly, with excitement about the most common things.

“Oh, dear! You came in the most convenient moment. I might need a little help with something.”- Mrs. Olsen hugged her baby and took one of her bags, entering house. Blacky left his food bowl and rushed to Dora, jumping around. Dora hugged him and let the dog lick her face, as always. Blacky adored her and his heart would be broken if she hasn’t let him greet her properly. Finally, Dora was free to get in to the house.

“I’ll make some coffee”- said girl looking at cats and trying to count them. – “You have some new family members.”

“Oh, yes. Those three showed up this morning. The tabby one is Julianna and she is pregnant.”

“So, when to expect kittens?”

“Any moment.”

“Nice! Tell me, did you notice or felt something strange?”

“In fact, I did. The whole morning is strange. There is some energy change that I don’t like at all. Besides, those three cats came suddenly and I can’t help myself not to think that we need an extra protection, because three new guardians are here and there will be more soon…”

“I’m afraid we do. I think grandma is sending “greetings” your way….”

“I knew I smelled a witchcraft! A whole morning I felt like I’m walking on pillows. While you make coffee, I’ll cast some protective spells on the house.”

“Of course. Also I’ll prepare a nice little space for birth giving. Should I bless the space?”

“By all means. I’ll come soon.”
