These are pretty common here, but I cannot always get a decent picture of these butterflies as they never sit still.
This one had some purple, pink, and silver shades on its wings and glittered in the sun. The edges of the wings were like some kind of embroidery edgings in brown. I wish I had a better picture here.
He was the tiniest, loveliest thing I had seen in a long while.

I see this butterfly for the first time. I wanted to take a shot of the butterfly, but it’s too fast ?
great shot, i love trying to photograph butterflies!
Butterflies are beautiful, we don’t have many varieties in New Zealand but Monarchs and White Butterflies are the most of them.
Really? I would have thought New Zealand would have many more varieties.
I think we only have 12 types Dawn but I am not absolutely sure. We do have plenty of moths.
A lovely butterfly. I photograph them every day during the summer.
Yes, I have seen some of your beautiful butterfly pictures here.
I like butterflies. They’re beautiful with their many mixed colours. I had taken a picture of a butterfly that had its way in my room but I can’t locate where the picture is.
I usually stare at them for a long time.
You really seem to enjoy having them around, don’t you?
It’s really calming to see wonderful things from nature. I seldom go out these past few days. I wish I can go out again in the coming days.
That is very sad, take time to smell the roses as they say. It is indeed so much fun to be one with nature.
Great butterfly picture …. butterflies are so hard to paint because they are so restless I don’t have the nerve to run after them
I agree Lado, they never remain still for long especially if they know a human is around.
And you have to have a lot of willpower and patience to get a picture … I don’t have too much
That is very true Lado, not everyone has that much patience.
Here we have a lot of white butterflies, they are beautiful.
This one was silver Nela13 , The white one and the cabbage butterflies are bigger and very common around these parts.
I only hope they are not what we have here. We have loads of them eating away our sago palm just when the cluster of tender leaves appear.
We have another tiny variety here which are white and orange with spots which eat our kalanchoe plants. They lay eggs under the leaves and the caterpillars completely destroy the plants.
Mine only attack the sago palm. Kalanchoe have thick leaves. They must be liking them because of that
Yeah, nice and juicy I guess. I have this love hate relationship with butterflies.
These tiny moth like butterflies are destructive. I sprayed but that is not affecting them.
I didn’t see that there was a butterfly until I read it.
Its really tiny @Alex Socorro.
