I bought a package of non GMO seeds that had Italian Lettuce seeds on the package. I decided it would be a good winter type vegetable to grow.
The problem is, is I did not save the package and don’t know what kind they really are. Do any of you know? These are just a few weeks old.
ID anyone?
nice beautiful photo love lettuce
Thank you, Jamsine me too!
A very informative post and nice pictures. Thanks for sharing!
lol, not very informative since I am asking ID, but thank you.
I know that I don’t know, Kim
I think it is a Red Romaine or butter lettuce.
It’s up to you, Kim. Coz I know nothing about it. Hehe… By the way, I am posting your work with some works from other friends in “Message from Standing People”, hopefully, approved soon.
Oh great, look forward to it, That makes me smile.
Unfortunately, we cannot compare who’s smile is wider between us
Or Red Butter Lettuce!
I think you got it. Red Butter Lettuce. Thank you so much Michelle!
My best guess would be a red Romaine!
For all: Awe, the people that I thought would know didnt!!! Thank you everyone for trying and commenting. It might be easier to ID when it gets older. See if the leaves have frills, head shape etc.
Nicely photographed, but I have no idea what kind of lettuce this is!
It is a pretty kind, red tints and so green. My cat loves it.. (frowns)
Sorry Kim I have no idea. But lovely shot!
Thank you Gina, I thought it was cool because of the shadow on the leaf from the other leaves.
I have no idea, but hopefully somebody here will!
I remember on the package it said the heads get very full and dense, unlike most leaf lettuces, and kind of like an iceberg shape when it matures.
Butter lettuce? Not sure if that is Italian though. Noticed you mentioned a buttery taste lol. I tried to do a search, but can’t find the answer
So good . But what is it i can understand
Hopefully someone will know, if not I will call it Kims Italian Lettuce lol
No idea but I am sure it is tasty!
It’s young, right now it tastes buttery, and really good. My cat has eaten five plants.
Unfortunately, I have no idea. I hope someone knows the answer.
I’m still waiting on a few people that may know. Thank you Ellie!
A very best & informative post for the all peoples..
Its a good sign for the Salad dish. I hope a the peoples like this.
I can’t wait to try it, I took a tiny leaf off, and it tastes buttery.
Sorry dear, same here….but hopefully soon you’ll get the answer from someone.
I might have to wait until it matures.. and taste it.. lol Thank you.
Unfortunately, I do not get to know Kim on a salad so that I can not help you
That’s okay, thanks for looking! I can’t wait to taste it.
