in standing still we followed the
edge with our eyes
and looking ahead we
wondered.
Do you ever ask the last question?
wait
is there a last question
the answer to WHy?
that stops the sound of
more questions
or
do we close our eyes
hearing more why’s dripping from the ceiling
to splatter in puddles on the ground.
As we walk the end
of what?
and wonder what why will be?

It is those why questions that make them better learners.
that is a great way to look at it, thank you!!!!
The kids are very curious. I think they want to grow up faster. That’s why they ask this question so often.
they are, with twins though sometimes the whys had whys!
I often wonder why I am left behind by those I love. I know I will see them again someday but in the meantime, I have to struggle on. Therefore, I think the Lord still has great plans for me here on this earth and I am willing to take up the challenge.
We struggle on
and in turning the corner
we are shaped by
the wind that pushes us
each direction that we turn
shaped by the wind and pressing on.
From a poem, I published more than 30 years ago! the struggle is so important. We are not left here to be alone, we are left her to carry the memories forward.
That’s children’s favorite question. I think we grown ups should ask it more often too.
to be young of mind, we have to ask why!
Very well said, I agree!
thanks my father said it all the time, he was quoting someone but I don’t remember who
Many times I had to answer the question “why”. Children are constantly asking this question.
yes Twins ask it twice as often, or so it felt!
Very nice post and a nice song, dear friend …. if I’m not mistaken about your question Why? refers to your children
yes they were why askers all the time the two of them!
That’s all the kids are the same, dear friend …. 100x a day why or what is it
they learned when they were four or so, that if they ran in opposite directions we couldn’t grab both of them!
Why sometimes are answered and sometimes not. Acceptance is the key!
why?
why do we have to accept?
sorry channeling my inner twins!
Well written Doc. I would say you were searching for answers to all the “why” questions form your children. It is a never ending process. 🙂
it really was with twins, for a long time
ooh waooo that’s really nice post doc!
thanks, Hamza, I am glad you liked it
Thanks for sharing your inner thoughts about your childhood.
it was more answering the why questions of the twins that lived with me!
