I do not love the marshmallow on top of sweet potatoes that seems to be a favorite fall dish. So I am constantly trying to find a new dish to replace it. I think I have found one that I like and perhaps the other family members can transition to. I am going to give it a try for our Sunday meal. (We are gathering for September birthdays.)
It’s simple enough to make and it’s topped with a brown sugar and pecan crumble. I am hoping that will give them the sweetness they are craving.

my wife loves them. I do not.
Every year at this time of year, we make a batch. It gets eaten once, and then we throw the rest way (huge waste).
This year I am making much less!
I baked sweet potatoes when I was in grade school but only in a makeshift oven the ground assisted by 3 big stones and firewood.
I never use marshmallow on mine, always brown sugar and pecans or walnuts.
I often try some “unusual” dish
I’ve never tried sweet potatoes before, dear friend
I love sweet potatoes, I eat it often.
No fussing over sweet potatoes. I can even eat them plain boiled with a touch of salt although we make many dishes with it
Oh, I like sweet potatoes. I don’t eat them very often though. But I hope your dish turns out ok, it sounds lovely. =)
