  1. Guaranteed Rate Field? Ouch! There’s one here called “Sleep Train Arena” (for basketball) – doesn’t evoke excitement. There is something just so wrong about this trend.

    • Guaranteed Rate Field is a new one. They only changed the name to that about two months ago if I remember correctly. I think that if they ever tried to change the name of Wrigley Field, Chicagoans would riot.

      • It kind of bugs me especially with baseball. There’s history for goodness sakes. And, they don’t call it the perfect game for no reason. It doesn’t change. ( and I have to confess that the older I get the more I appreciate the comfort of things that are familiar) It shouldn’t be hard to keep up with what the name of the ballpark is – that’s my grumpy position and I’m sticking to it cuz then “deja vu all over again” is no longer as easy as it should be.
