This is becoming a habit a Pukako comes when I feed sparrows in the front lawn and our friend turns up.
Never have I ever seen Pukakos on a lawn until we moved to Bucklands Beach. His or her partner is not far away and occasionally comes for an extra meal.
Both Warwick & myself have become attached to our new friend..

Love seeing new birds in the yard. A great shot!
Thanks so much Carol, glad you like it
Great capture! I love it when birds are around.
Thanks Ellie, that Pukako is now in regular attendance, daily..
We don’t have these birds in England, but I do love the look of it.
The Pukako is a type of Swamp hen, thanks Coffee Queen.
Oh I see, I didn’t know that. Thankyou.
i think this speaks as much to you and Warrick as it does the bird. Your kindness is clearly understood by birds!
Yes, animals know when someone cares..Thanks so much Doc..
We had a peacock that made our garden his home but with lockdown he is nowhere to be seen. Probably back to his old habitat which is now safe.
Well birds make friends but wild birds go where they want to…thanks Grace
