Every year, thousands if not millions of people go on vacation. Among the most popular vacation destinations are amusement parks and National Parks.
Examples of amusement parks that people flock to are Disneyland and Disney World. There are many others. Amusement parks aren’t necessarily those that just have a carnival-like setup. For instance, Disney resorts offer far more than just rides and concessions. Such parks are so popular that even Universal Studios has an amusement park in Florida.
National Parks offer a different sort of vacation adventure entirely. From the time that Yellowstone National Park was established as the world’s first national park, on March 1, 1872, areas of tremendous natural beauty have been set aside to preserve for generations the flora and fauna of that land. As a result, national parks exist in almost 100 different countries now. Officially, there are 59 national parks in the US alone, and the number is actually quite a bit higher, technically. There aren’t many states that don’t have at least one National Park and there are national parks near even states that don’t have one.
There are now well over 1,000 national parks in the world, covering millions of square kilometers. Most national parks allow people to hike, observe, photograph, and otherwise get out into the outdoors to enjoy the natural scenic wonders. There are often concessions, campgrounds, and lodgings located inside or just outside of the park to see to the needs of park visitors, but the underlying goal of maintaining the land for future generations still stands. The draw of national parks is of natural wonders rather than manmade ones.
Between amusement parks and National Parks, the number of people who go to one or the other as a vacation destination is huge. Which destination would you prefer?

Given a choice between the two, would you rather take a vacation at an amusement park or a National Park?

very amazing post!!!!!!!! loved disney land
Amusement parks or national parks? This is the question. I’d say national parks.
That is how I feel, too.
Oh I’d love to visit National Parks. I wish I lived in America as there are so many beautiful National Parks there I’d love to visit.
Have you visited all the national parks in the UK? The last I heard, there were something like 15.
Even if you were in America, it would take quite a while to visit all the national parks. I think that is something that is sort of staggering…if a person spent a month each year exploring a different national park in the US, they still wouldn’t be able to see all there is to see in the national parks, yet would be 59 years old by the time they got done with all of them, assuming that they were 1-year-old when they started.
I like them too
Thank you for sharing
Are there any in particular that you especially like?
No doubt, national parks
That is me, too. Then again, I grew up in a National Park, so it would be an unfair question in my case. LOL
Both are lovely places!
They sure can be. The only issue with amusement parks is that they are usually crowded. lol
Quite difficult to choose this one 🙂
I can definitely understand that.
I like them both. Depends what we want see and how expensive ticket is.
The implication is that it would cost about the same, though amusement parks are usually far more expensive than national parks.
I have seen some in documentaries lately, What a place huh?
Yes, but it is also huge.
Very easy question for me. 🙂 Although if we were in let’s say Siberia, I think I would rather an inside amusement park. Siberia is too cold!
It might come as a surprise to many, but Russia has 47 national parks. I don’t know what the nearest is to Siberia, though. lol
I knew they had some. I have seen some new documentaries on them. But 47?? wow. Thank you for the education!!
It stands to reason, really. Russia is much larger than the US, after all. What would be a surprise is if they didn’t have a lot of highly scenic places they didn’t want to preserve for future generations. China has over 200 national parks and there are even national parks in Iran and Egypt, too. If a person ever put, “Visiting every national park in the world” on their bucket list, it would sure keep them busy for a long while.
If I were rich, this would be a great idea. Can you image trying to visit just half?
It would be difficult, even if you did nothing else but visit one after another.
