Themes by the Month ~ Snow is an important precipitation

Winter has come to our country. I don’t like snow and cold. The view of the snowy landscape is fantastic, though. But the snow is important precipitation, without which much of the weather would change in places that are usually white in winter.  For some insects could perhaps even better if I had not fallen for more sensitive plants but not. Snow cover protects them from frost and provides moisture to the soil. It is also important as a supply of water in the spring. When the snow melts, much more water is absorbed into the soil than during the rain. When the snow melts in the spring, it feeds the watercourses and groundwater, which due to the absence of rain in the winter would quickly decline or their water regime would fluctuate more.

  1. I think our weather seasons all have a purpose although we don’t always see the reasons. Lovely photo still want to experience snow at least once.
Imagine our NZ Christmas where it will be hot and sticky, it is not like the Christmas you are used to.
