Several of these cuckoos visit us every day, looking for the Noni fruit which is their favourite among other fruits. .
We have both the black and the spotted cuckoos. They have different chirps for different occasions. Their mating call is so soothing and so also summoning rain as it were.
They are up early in the morning compared to other birds and their cry early in the morning when there is pin drop silence is peaceful
This video clip is a capture of such chirps

I had never heard them before. I didn’t like them in my headset at all. It might be different out in nature. Very interesting to think about.
In that video two are fighting but one is calling for its mate.
We used to hear them all the time but these days it is rare. I can’t remember hearing one for many years now so I wonder whether they are extinct in the UK.
That is the sad part. We used to get so many species frolicking in the bird bath but quite a few are missing
There were always many cuckoos and woodpeckers in the tall pine trees in quiet cemeteries surrounded by wood in Latvia,
Those may have been differnt that chirped like the cuckoo clock (lol)
Those first two birds were not joking, quite fierce!
They were I know having a duel. (lol)
We do not have these birds I do not believe.
These are Indian cuckoos but there is the real cuckoo that chirps like the cuckoo clock which could be found in the US
We also have cuckoos here, it is a funny bird.
I like to see them around in our garden
The video and the photos are cute, loved the sounds.
I have many more vidoes on these lovely birds
I never saw them but I hear these birds very often.
Was the sound the same as you heard in this video There are other type of cuckoss.
It was different sound in the video. Ours just say coo-coo, no other sounds heard. And I never seen or heard the duel of these birds. Maybe I should go and photo hunt…
Yours must sound like the cuckoo clock?
You are right! Like the clock!!!
Cuckoos also live here, but it is exclusively a forest bird
Here cuckoos are seen all over.
You can be happy …. she is a very beautiful bird
We have cuckoos in our home town
There are several that visit our garden every day
