Smarjetna Gora is a hill above Kranj with an altitude of 646 meters. From the top, it offers a view of the Julian Alps, the Karavanke and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Due to its location and view, it has always been an attractive spot for anyone who wanted to watch the happenings in the valley. At the top today is the church of St. Margaret, which was once the destination of many pilgrims. Nowadays, the Church of St. Mary (the patroness of the storm and hail) comes to life on all major Christian holidays, and there are many wedding and baptismal ceremonies. According to oral tradition speaks of the bedrock, which is in the southern part of the church. It is supposed to have healing power and spread a strong charge of positive energy around it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see this rock because the church was locked.

Thank you. We have many small churches
All our life is like a hill we are climbing up.
I agree. Our lives really look like climbing a very high hill.
I was already on Šmarjetna Gora, dear Vidocka … but I didn’t know about this anecdote about church and wonder stone
You’ve learned something new.
Something new and interesting though I don’t believe it
Everyone has their own opinion
But I agree with you, dear Vidocka
I believe in God, I believe in his healing touch.
We lived in a place where there was a huge rock, almost every weekend we would go and climb it, It was so much fun when my brothers took me there and helped me through the difficult spots.
I too believe in the power of faith. I have some low hills nearby that I can visit
Yes , there is a hill near my old home and I use to climb in my childhood
Fortunately, I have some low hills nearby that I can visit
I believe in the power of belief. There are so many scientific studies that show the human mind can heal the body, if it wants to!
I agree. I am convinced that many illnesses can be cured with optimism and positive thinking.
There is much in this world we do not know, nor can we measure!
Pretty church. I did climb a mountain while I was holidaying in New Zealand.
I very much like to climb a lower mountain. But I must not overdo it for the sake of health.
Such a lovely church and a beautiful view!
Thank you. The view from this hill is really unique.
I love this church and the story. I feel I am always climbing a hill in life. Thank you for this.
Thank you. I think every church or similar building has its own story.
I believe with enough faith people can be healed. (I am not certain it has anything to do with a rock.)
Thank you. You are right. With faith and optimism we can overcome many diseases.
