That Corner of the Breakroom

When I did my job in more traditional setting in a large building, we had a large break room. There was one corner that had earned a well deserved nickname.  It was called the Whiners Corner. Instead of leaving work behind and talking about other things and giving your mind a true break they would whine. They never tried to offer a solution they just whined and complained. That corner was and in a toxic place. It breeds discontent. There were some who didn’t work often but whenever they came to work that were creating chaos, discontent, and whining in the corner.

We have that here too and it’s just sad and toxic.

Just like in the building where I worked, where I wouldn’t go whine, I won’t visit the whiners corners here.

If you have solutions, then that is perfect.

  1. Whining can get annoying when it’s just all whine! As you mentioned, whine and does nothing!

But I’ve seen whines turned into a happy and positive conversation, and some even made into comedy books. So sometimes, its the attitude and association towards whines.

  2. Both sides of the whining corner. I listen at times too far too much whining! I do also on occasion whine too much. My rule is now, positive doesn’t equal negative. Positive squared equals negative!
