There have been some things over the years that I really liked and used extensively. One of those: devices” was and remains the iPad. I started using an iPad around 2011. Yes, I was a late adopter of both the Android and iOS tablets. Rare for me to be a late adopter, but I lived in the PC world and used the pen systems. A touch tablet didn’t seem critical to me. It was something that I found less than critical, so I didn’t get one for a long time.
Now, of course, the iPad is something I use every day. The evolution of need and the reality of function takes over and leaves you with a well new model for something. The addition for the iPad Pro’s of the Apple Pencil has also been interesting. Windows Tablets have long had pencils (or the new Surface Pen) the Android (in particular Samsung) have long included pens. Apple has now for the past three years included their pencil, and again it is interesting.
I still, miss the reality of paper. I often use electric pens simply because that is what I grew up with (pen and paper). I like the Rocketbook tools as well. They let you write on paper, capture and convert to digital. You can also scan handwritten and typed pages using Aabby FineReader or Omnipage from Nuisance. They can scan and convert the text into digital.
Still, I love the feel of pen on paper or pen on a whiteboard. I have a couple of whiteboards in my basement just so I can, from time to time, think with a pen in hand!

Sometimes miss about writing on paper, but prefer keyboard. Read about some modern writers who deliberately refuses PC and originally wrote their works only on paper.
There are those who love pen and paper more. I know, at times I miss it!
Yes I do miss wiring on paper. Something about the feel of the pen on the paper.
I grew up writing with pen and paper. I still have digital pens and paper just so I don’t forget!!!
I still love writing on paper, and also on whiteboards, of course
Many years ago I wrote a poem called Dancing Bears with Colored pens. I worked in a group for the company I was working at, whoever got the whiteboard marker first was a dancing bear. Have you ever seen a bear perform? They don’t care if there is an audience. Ergo, with the pen in hand, the person didn’t have to listen to the rest of us!
That was very impressive because I didn’t know that kind of story. Does that symbolize authority?
I would argue it was more about people on that team not listening, ever!
