This is why I keep my camera with me all the time. I was out on the deck watching the bluebirds and the hummingbirds. I looked down and saw a skipper butterfly perched on my lantana blooms. Was so surprised that he stayed there long enough for me to get his photo. They usually are fluttering around so quickly it is a challenge to get a photo. I got lucky with this one. He was enjoying my blooms, and I enjoyed his visit. These little brown butterflies are very common but I still enjoy seeing them appear in my gardens.

Great capture! That’s awesome that you were able to get a shot of the butterfly. I always have my phone with me and for the most part that serves as my camera. I don’t know if I’d be quick enough to get a shot of a butterfly though!
This was taken on my deck, it took me awhile. I had to sit still for several minutes before snapping the camera.
Thank you for commenting.
That’s a beautiful photo, Carol.
Thanks Branka for your comment.
Beautiful photo. We don’t see many yellow lantanas around here, mostly orange or the ubiquitous Spanish Flag.
Thank you Ann, I have a few different colors. Orange is pretty.
you just never know who you’re going to run into when you go to the garden
Indeed that is a fact Alex.
that is just part of the garden’s charm…
Another reason why I enjoy it like I do.
You dig it the most. I suspect you are a descendant of Pomona…
As in California? Funny, I “dig” my garden the most.
I use my phone as my camera so luckily I have it with me most of the time if I want to snap a quick photo.
Good for you, thanks for commenting.
I also keep my phone camera as a backup.
Such a lovely capture! I take photos mostly with my phone, so it’s always by my side.
Thanks Ellie, good to see you. I never leave my house without mine.
Magical moment!!
Unfortunately i missed many of such moments, I don’t really keep camera with me
Thank you! I started a few years ago after missing many photos.
It’s a nice experience. I also carry with me my mobile phone to take a picture of something.
Yes indeed, thank you for visiting Robin!
What is the background about this butterfly? What is it’s range? What type of flowers does it like?
Thanks for asking Rachael. I should do a longer post with all of this information, thanks for the reminder. In the meantime here is a link I hope you can access that talks about the skipper.

That’s a beautiful photo, Carol. Unfortunately, I don’t keep my camera with my all the time. But I really should, as it’s usually the case I see something lovely when I am unable to take a picture!
Thanks! I keep my smaller camera with me all the time, I have learned.
Nice visitor Carol, it looks so pretty on the bloom.
Thank you my friend, I love these special visitors.
