Black Swallowtail Butterfly

I talked about my new Black Butterfly Bush planted just a couple of months ago in this post: Click this link if you missed it: BUTTERFLY BUSH BEE

Also, I posted several days ago about the first butterfly in 2019 on my white butterfly bush. If you missed that post you can see it here: FIRST BUTTERFLY 2019

Today I managed to capture a black Swallowtail butterfly on my black butterfly bush. Yes my day has been made! The butterflies are so big and when they spread their wings, they cover the blooms. Amazing nature to watch. I stood still for several minutes watching this beauty.

Our friend Pam informed me that seeing the bumblebees can bring hope. I am hoping the same is true for seeing the butterflies.

  1. Carol, the hand that guides butterflies to your garden is filled with love.

What a magnificent butterfly. What a wonderful picture! (oh yeah the flower was nice also!) 😉

    • Thanks Doc I have to agree that there are other forces at work in the garden. I look forward to seeing these beautiful butterflies each summer. And happy I have two butterfly bushes for them now.

    • He caught the corner of my eye from inside with his fluttering. Grabbed my camera and he stayed another ten minutes at least. Love how they spread their wings and sometimes cover the bloom.
